The three islands of the Cayman Islands are the open top of the open sea mountain. Under the water, the sides of this mountain are quite steep, vertical in some places, just within a few hundred meters of the beach.
In addition to the expected coral reefs, colorful fish, and other underwater creatures, this "dive on the wall" provides something extraordinary for scuba divers. Diving in the Cayman can be done by boat, or at many dive sites, directly from the beach.
The tourism industry in the Cayman Islands caters to divers, with many resorts and condominium complexes that have in-house dives that offer course work, daily excursions, sales and rental of SCUBA Equipment.

Grand Cayman
Diving in Grand Cayman is divided into approximately 4 areas; Seven Mile Beach and Northwest Point, The North Wall, The South Side and The East End, with over 159 dive sites. Due to the prevailing south-east wind, it is rare to dive on the South Side dive site, even if it's done when possible because the sites are really beautiful. Due to the number of sites available for diving, there are opportunities for almost all levels of divers to explore this amazing underwater world. Popular dive sites include Kittiwake located on the tip of Seven Mile Beach North, and a popular 12 foot dive in Stingray City
Visibility is extraordinarily good because of the geography of the island. There is only a small amount of run off of mud or fertilizer from the soil, and the steep walls cause coral reefs to be very close to deep sea water.
The marine life on Grand Cayman includes tarpon, silversides, French angelfish, and Sponge Barrel among others. Cayes Brac and Little Cayman

Cayman Brac and Little Cayman
The two 'twin islands' are thin strips of land located east to west, and diving is divided between the north and south sides. Due to the prevailing southeast wind, seldom dives on the south side of these islands. Cayman Brac has more than 50 dive sites and is popular among nature lovers. In Cayman Brac, you will find Captain MV. Keith Tibbets. Best for experienced divers, it is the only Russian warning available for divers in the western hemisphere. Cayman Brac also has an additional 11 dive sites that can be reached by the beach. In Little Cayman, 'Bloody Bay Wall' and 'Jackson Bay' are the most commonly requested dive destinations. Little Cayman features a shallow dive as low as 20 feet and as deep as 6,000 feet. They are both located on the north side of the island, and are inaccessible throughout the year due to weather conditions.
