Histori
abad ke-19
Garden Grove was founded by Alonzo Cook in 1874. A school district and Methodist church was held that year. It remained a small rural crossroads until the arrival of a train in 1905. The railway connections helped the prosperous city with its citrus, walnut, chilli and then strawberry plants.
20th century
In 1933, most of the city's main business districts were destroyed by the Long Beach earthquake, and one person was killed in high school. The post World War II explosion led to rapid development, and Garden Grove was established as a city in 1956 with about 44,000 inhabitants.
