In 1993, Care graduated from McIntosh High School where he became part of the 1992 Georgia State High School football team. He played his club football with Fayette Lightning who also won the 1991, 1992 and 1993 Georgia State Championships. He was an American football player of SMA NSCAA 1992 and 1993. Care attended Clemson University, playing in the men's soccer team from 1993 to 1996. He is the 1996 All American Third Team. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management.

Careers
On February 1, 1997, D.C. United chose Care in the first round (eleventh overall) from 1997 MLS College Draft. On February 6, 1997, Richmond Kickers chose Care in the second round of the USISL A-League draft. Care does not join D.C. for his pre-season training camp to finish his title. Therefore, he subsequently signed a contract with Carolina Dynamo on May 1, 1997. In February 1998, United designed Care for the second time when they took him in the first round (the ninth overall) of the MLS Design 1998. DC sent Care on loan to Richmond Kickers, Hampton Roads Mariners and Project 40 during the season. He saw his time in just one first team match before being released on 2 November 1998. However, he was on the bench for United when they defeated Vasco da Gama at the Copa Interamericana 1998. In March 1999, Maintenance was signed with Richmond Kickers but sent to Cyclone Jacksonville at the beginning of the season. In May 2000, he signed a contract with Atlanta Silverbacks. He spent two seasons with Silverbacks before being released in February 2002.
