History and origin

The school was originally planned as a year-round school with a short vacation throughout the year, but the plan was later dismissed, and the school is now following the standard academic schedule.

The initial plan is to enroll 300 new students and gradually receive more students each year. Months before its opening, the second 60 years were also accepted. At the moment Principal Nigel Pugh split the school into three "small learning communities" (SLC) to simulate the experience of attending smaller schools.

The campus was originally the site of the expansion of the Creedmore mental hospital, whose school has no affiliation. During the 2009-2010 school year, some of the last buildings were demolished for sports that have not started yet.

The main principle is Nigel Pugh. On 28 November 2011 former dean Ean Corrado was elected assistant principal. Eric Contreras moved to a higher position. In the academic year 2017-2018, Corrado became principal. The current headmaster is Jae Cho.

Small Learning Community

Three Small Learning Communities at school are named Emerson, Freire, and Montessori. Each has their own teacher, and most students attend classes only in their small learning community. Some classes - e.g. art, music, Spanish culture, Spain - is "cross-community", meaning that students from different communities attend the same class. Montessori and Emerson were formerly the two largest communities, had several seniors and an average number of junior, second year, and freshman, while Freire only had juniors, freshmen and freshmen. This has changed.

SLC each has a student government, with student governments from all communities working together to form the United Student Government (USGO). Each community organizes its own event, and members of other student governments help host the event. Several events throughout the school are planned by all student governments at the same time.

The "Gardner Community" provides a special education, and is named after Howard Gardner.
