Histori

Myrtle Beach High School originally shared facilities with all the lower classes in the Myrtle Beach public school in a building occupying a city block bordered by N. Kings Highway, Oak Street, 5th Avenue North and 6th Avenue North. In the middle of the school year 1946-47, fires destroyed the schoolhouse; classes for the rest of the school year are held at The Seaside Inn, which occupies a plot of land that the Myrtle Beach Pavilion theme park finally built. Shortly after the fire, Myrtle Beach High School was rebuilt on a plot of land just west of North Kings's Highway, northwest of the intersection between 17 US Businesses and 14th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach. In 1965, MBHS was one of the first public schools in the area to integrate black and white students. 1990, the school building and athletic field are sold by the Horry County School and restored to the Kings Festival shopping center. MBHS was moved to the site now on Robert Grissom Parkway between 29th and 38th Avenues North.
