House of Blues is a network of live music concert halls and restaurants in major markets throughout the United States. The first location of House of Blues, in Cambridge, Massachusetts' Harvard Square, was opened in 1992 by Isaac Tigrett, founder of Hard Rock Cafe, and Dan Aykroyd, my 1980s movie star The Blues Brothers.

Overview
The first House of Blues opened on 26 November 1992, in the commercial district of Harvard Square and the retail area of ​​Cambridge, Massachusetts. The company was initially funded by Dan Aykroyd, Aerosmith, Paul Shaffer, Phoenix River, James Belushi, and Harvard University, among others. This original location has been closed. However, driveways everywhere where members of The Blues Brothers and others leave their mark, are still there.
Aykroyd and Belushi remain associated with the brand and attend to most openings, attending and performing at the opening celebrations of both Houston and Boston House of Blues locations. In 1999, the House of Blues obtained Universal Concerts from Seagram. On July 5, 2006, Live Nation acquired House of Blues. As a division of Live Nation, the company currently operates 11 clubs across North America, with its location in Atlantic City (closed August 2014 along with Showboat Atlantic City) into a franchise. The iconic Sunset Sunset location in West Hollywood, CA closed in July 2015; new location not found. These nine locations also feature VIP membership clubs, the Foundation Room.
