Packages of crime

While visiting his parents in Australia in 1982, Wilder was accused of sexually assaulting two 15-year-old girls who were forced to pose naked. His parents sent guarantees and he was allowed to return to Florida to await trial, but the court's delay prevented his case from being heard, because the hearing hearing in early April 1984 came after his death.

In early 1984, he embarked on a six-year transnational crime scene in the United States. He will leave a total of 8-9 victims of female murder.

Murder Florida and Georgia

The first murder attributed to Wilder was Rosario Gonzalez, last seen on 26 February 1984, at the Miami Grand Prix, where he was hired as a model. Wilder also raced, where he ran in the IMSA GTU class at Porsche 911. On March 5, Wilder's ex-girlfriend, Miss Florida finalist Elizabeth Kenyon, disappeared. No women ever found. Police linked Wilder with the two women after consulting with a private detective who had been hired by Kenyon's parents to find information related to his departure.

On March 18, Wilder led the 21-year-old Theresa Wait Ferguson from Merritt Square Mall in Merritt Island, Florida and killed him, throwing his body at Canaveral Groves, where he was found on March 23.

Her next-to-life victim is Linda Grover, 19, from Florida State University, who kidnapped him from Mall Square Governor in Tallahassee, Florida, and was transported to Bainbridge, Georgia, on 20 March. He declined his offer to take pictures. he was for modeling agency, after which he attacked him in the mall parking lot. Wilder tied Grover's hands, wrapped them in a blanket, and placed them in the trunk of his car. Grover was taken to Glen Oaks Motel and raped. Wilder blinded him with a hair dryer and super glue. He uses copper wire at his feet and passes an electric current through them. When he tried to escape, he hit her, but he ran away and locked himself in the bathroom where he started hitting the wall. Wilder escaped in his car, taking all his possessions with him.

Texas and Kansas killing

On March 21, Wilder approached Terry Walden, a 23-year-old wife, mother, and nursing student at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, about posing as a model. He refused, but disappeared on March 23. Wilder stabbed him to death and dumped his body in a canal, where he was found on March 26. After killing Walden, Wilder escaped in 1981 the yellow Mercury Cougar. On March 25, Wilder kidnapped a 21-year-old Suzanne Logan at Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City. Wilder took him 180 miles north to Newton, Kansas, and inspected room 30 of the I-35 Inn. After breakfast the next morning, he went to the Milford Reservoir, 90 miles northeast of Newton near Junction City, Kansas, where he stabbed him to death and dumped his body under a cedar tree.

Utah and California Killings

Wilder took 18-year-old Sheryl Bonaventura captive in Grand Junction, Colorado, on March 29. They are seen together at a restaurant in Silverton where they tell staff that they are heading to Las Vegas with a stop in Durango down the road. On March 30, they were spotted at the Four Corners Monument, after which Wilder went to Page Boy Motel in Page, Arizona. Wilder shot and stabbed Bonaventure to death around March 31 near the Kanab River in Utah, but his body was not found until May 3.

Near Torrance, California, Wilder photographed 16-year-old Tina Marie Risico before abducting her and taking her to El Centro, where she attacked her. Wilder seems to believe that Risico will be useful in helping him get another victim, so he stays alive and takes him with him as he travels east through Prescott, Arizona, Joplin, Missouri, and Chicago, Illinois. Wilder is on the list of the ten most wanted FBI fugitives since the second week of April.

He and Risico went to Merrillville, Indiana, where he helped him kidnap a 16-year-old Dawnette Wilt at Southlake Mall. Wilder raped Wilt several times when Risico went to New York. Near Penn Yan, Wilder took Wilt into the forest and tried to strangle him before stabbing him twice and leaving him. Wilt tied a pair of jeans around himself, and was taken to Soliders and Sailors Hospital in Penn Yan by a truck driver. Dr. John F. Flynn performed a life-saving operation at Wilt at the Hospital and Wilt survived and recovered at the Soldiers and Sailors Hospital at Penn Yan; he told Penn Yan police that Wilder was heading for Canada. At Eastview Mall in Victor, New York, Wilder forces a 33-year-old Elizabeth Dodge into his car and tells Risico to follow him in Dodge's Pontiac Firebird. After a short trip, Wilder shot Dodge and threw his body behind a pile of high pebbles. He and Risico then drove Firebird to Logan Airport in Boston, where he bought him a ticket to Los Angeles.

Other possible victims

Along with the eight known victims whom he killed between February and April 1984, Wilder has been suspected in the murder and disappearance of many other women, including some whose bodies were found around Florida in the area he frequented. Wilder was the prime suspect in the loss of the 15-year-old Colleen Orsborn, who disappeared after leaving home in Daytona Beach on March 15, 1984. Wilder was staying at a motel in Daytona Beach at the same time. date. Though he checked on the day Orsborn disappeared, no evidence was found to relate it. • Wilder is a suspect in the unsolved murder of Australian Wanda Beach - the murder of Marianne Schmidt and Christine Sharrock in Wanda Beach, near Sydney, on January 11, 1965, due to her similarity to the suspect sketch.
  • Wilder is a suspect in the unresolved disappearance of Mary Opitz. The 17-year-old boy disappeared in Fort Myers, Florida, on January 16, 1981, and was last seen walking toward the parking lot. Another girl physically similar to Opitz, Mary Hare, disappeared on February 11, 1981, from the same parking lot. The rabbit's body, which had been decomposed, was discovered in June 1981; he was stabbed from behind and became a murder victim. The authorities began to suspect the fraud involved in Opitz's case after this; Opitz's case remains unsolved.
  • In 1982, skeletal remains of two unidentified women were excavated near Wilder's property in Loxahatchee, Florida. One victim had died for one to three years, and apparently his fingers were cut off; police theorized that whoever killed him could be linked to a crime if the body had been identified; she was identified as Tina Marie Beebe in 2013. Another woman has died for several months.
  • Shari Lynne Ball, a 20-year-old aspiring model, disappeared in October 1983 from Boca Raton, Florida. The Leppert family filed a million-million lawsuit against Wilder before his death but later dismissed the lawsuit. Leppert's mother, modeling agent Linda Curtis, later stated that she never believed Wilder was involved in Tammy's disappearance. The police could never connect Wilder and Leppert, and it's probably a coincidence that he disappeared at the same time he was targeting the regional model. He has a long history of sex crimes but did not start his killing until almost a year after he disappeared.
  • An unknown young woman, Broward County Jane Doe, was found floating on a canal on February 18, 1984, in Davie, Florida. He has been strangled to death and is thought to have died two days before being discovered.
