Teacher Training College, Rangpur , is one of the oldest teacher training colleges in Bangladesh. There are a total of fourteen teacher training academies in Bangladesh located in major cities. All colleges are funded by the Bangladeshi Ministry of Education. Teachers' Training College, Rangpur was founded in 1882. It is located in one of the division cities of Bangladesh, Rangpur. It is 350 kilometers away from the capital, Dhaka. This is a training institute for secondary school teacher teachers. The teachers come here for their professional development.

Three courses are taught on campus such as Bachelor of Education (one year course), Master of Education (one year course) and four years Bachelor of Education (Honors). In addition to these programs, some training programs are run on campus regularly.

Lecturer and staff
All faculty members teaching here are highly qualified and recruited through the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam conducted by the Commission on Public Services of Bangladesh (PSC). Faculty members are trained in pedagogy from around the world. There is a position of Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Clerck, Office Assistant, MLSS to run the administration. Head of School (Head of Administration) now is Professor Hamidul Haque and Vice Principal is Associate Professor Ms. Akhter Banu. There are a total of 35 teachers and 50 office staff in this educational institution.
Student
Since this is a training institute for teachers and prospective teachers, all adult students and their average age are between 19 and 50 years old. They come from the nearby Rangpur district. The catchment area for these colleges is the six northern districts (Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Gaibandha and Panchagarh). Most students graduate from various state universities. There are some teachers in positions also accepted at this college for their professional degrees. The number of students who run almost five hundred each year.
Financing organization
The Bangladeshi government finances all teacher training academies through the Ministry of Education. Each year's budget allocation is sent to the district account office and they disburse money. There are always some educational development projects based on this campus. Improving the Quality of Teaching in Secondary Education Projects (TQI-SEP) is one of the leading projects that work for teacher training in secondary education.
